A overview of Opera and Chamber Music!

I've always been invested in the idea of being a part of a climate where we have a musically curious audience all throughout India and avenues through which we can listen to all kinds of music as more engaged listeners. So if you've ever asked someone what exactly opera is or you have no clue how to listen to art song/opera or if you already know what this is but can't explain it to your friend who thinks it's just annoying noises - or even if you're just curious to see what this long haired Indian guy is saying- I hope you find this useful!

Highart-Lofi Part 2

John Tavener - A magnificent classical English composer. "The Lamb" is arguably one of his most performed choral pieces, a hauntingly beautiful piece that I certainly couldn't do justice alone.

G.V Subba Rao is a prolific Telugu Classical poet, who's 4 volume magnum opus is Sita Manoramayanam, a retelling of the Classic (Ramayana) - but entirely through the eyes of Sita and what she experiences.

In this poem 'Malupu' (written in the 1950's) the poet says that he does not wish to live an unchallenged and uneventful life, for that's a life not worth living. He wishes for a life filled with love and loss, pain and joy, uncertainty and stability.

That, he says, is a life worth living.

Ala (The Wave in Telugu)

Composed and performed- Sandeep Gurrapadi

I thought I'd write in Silvio Rodriguez's style of song. The last lines are from one of Federico Lorca's most famous poems.

Lyrics: Hold on, stay close As two stars collide and our hearts begin to part Vidhi maredi ela (Can destiny change?) Idhi mana Kadha (This is our story) Jahan naya sama (there towards a new atmosphere) No duerme nadie por el cielo (Out there in the sky, no one sleeps)
